The 50fifty is Nobile’s hybrid C kite that offers all the advantages of the C kite, with the depower, range and stability of BOW and SLE bridled kite designs. With some significant changes in outline and new ultra wide wing tips, the second version of the 50fifty has smoother power delivery and is more comfortable unhooked than the average bridled freeride kite. The 50fifty is the Nobile’s top performance kite for the advanced freestyle crowd, but also has good amounts of depower and easy handling for the intermediate. The kite is at home unhooked, but does require a bit of trim if the wind is pumping to keep it from running away from you. Good amount of pop and smooth control with direct steering make it ideal for wakestyle and freeriders who crave that extra power and smooth pull.
The 50fifty’s steering is direct, and bar pressure is light to moderate, with good power delivery through the entire loop. Turning speed is reactive and direct, with consistent, smooth power through the entire turn. Water relaunch is quick and easy, and the kite boosts high and reacts acceptably to bar input. The 50Fifty is an improved version of last season’s, and will entice Nobile riders who want a high-performance freeride kite with added wakestyle capability.
- Less positional feedback while jumping big
Some loss of positional feedback while the kite was jumping overhead made it harder to land soft on big jumps in gusty conditions.
