The Punch is the new 10.5-metre, and the mid-size kite of the Rabbit Gang 2.0 that offers versatile performance that covers the full gamut of styles and disciplines. Like all of the characters in the gang, the Punch’s low aspect, ball-shaped canopy provides plenty of low-end grunt and tight pivotal turning. The tunable bridles and steering lines allow the kite to modify its flying character to suit any style or skill level. In the waves the Team preferred the upwind bridal settings and fastest turning speed, as it offers more instant depower and the quickest in quick and tight pivotal turns. The wide aspect and ball-like visual flight of the Punch in the sky takes some time to adapt to, but once you’re dialed this kite is intuitive and easy to fly. Water relaunch is superb even in fluky winds, as the ultra wide central canopy easily catches wind and rolls the kite to its wingtip for quick rotation into the air. The distinct style and easy flying character and adaptable performance make it a versatile travel companion.
No lazy one-pump
The larger diametre leading edge and low aspect design makes the kite slightly less speedy upwind than some.
+ What the Test Team liked
“It’s wide through the centre compared to other three-strut models. It’s great that the tuning significantly changes the kite’s performance, which makes it versatile for waves and wakestyle riding.”
